It was a season that left plenty of unanswered questions, and one begging to be repeated. The financial gears at Barcelona, the procession of change at Real Madrid and the dogged pursuit of the top by the remaining members of the pack makes this an unmissable feast.

To 2025-26 season, this rivalry has made it to another interesting section. Their Cholismo- a doctrine of defensive toughness, shared sacrifice and vicious counter-attack- is a tactical masterpiece and they have been making intelligent investments in more fire power.
Then there is the Basque power houses Athletic Bilbao, with its Cantera policy of fielding only homegrown talent can bring a certain level of passion and sense of identity to the field that is just unequaled. The rates of their progress are phenomenal A look at the tactical breakdown of squads such as Real Sociedad or Girona discloses that these organizations believe deeply in Juego de Posicion (Positional Play) that even Pep Guardiola might envy. It is not enough to keep own ball, it is about establishing advantage by smart movement and spaces. It is beautiful to watch, a chess game of football.

What gets my blood boiling more to the season of 2025-26 is the overall talent depth. World cup fodder, it is boring, but La Liga in in where the future stars of the globe will be coming to their trade. The list of the players that should be watched in La Liga is huge. Real Betis winger Assane Diao is an explosive speedster, or Valencia youngster Javi Guerra is a midfielder with a lot of potential. These are not just names added to you Football Manager shortlist, but the ones which will soon shine in the league.
